Follow the footsteps of pioneer desert explorers with our sixteen-day expedition across Oman’s Empty Quarter, an arid desert that takes up the southern third of the Arabian Peninsula and has long fascinated explorers and scientists.
This trip is for the intrepid explorer, seeking an off-road experience in one of the most rarely visited parts of the world. This unique itinerary will begin in Muscat and end in Salalah.

We’ll embark on our expedition from Riyad towards Saudi Arabia's side of the Empty Quarter, retracing Thesiger’s footsteps and visiting several landmark sites from his 1948 expedition.
We'll explore the nature reserve of Uruq Bani Maarid, and the massive and enthralling prehistoric rock art site of Bir Hima in Najran, an ancient Paleolithic and Neolithic site filled with petroglyphs.
